Support for Healthy Development

Every child learns and develops at their own pace. If you have concerns about your child’s development, talk to your child’s health care provider.

  • Free evaluations to ensure children with developmental delays are identified early and referred to the appropriate support. Children not yet in Kindergarten can be referred to Child Find at any time when there is a concern about the child’s development.

Identifying and addressing developmental delays as early as possible.

Child Find is part of Colorado's system for identifying children suspected of having a delay in development.

If a young child is not meeting typical developmental milestones, or someone is concerned about the child’s growth or learning, a Child Find team will evaluate how the child plays, learns, speaks, behaves and moves.

The purpose of the evaluation is to determine if there is a significant delay or if there is a need for early intervention or special education services.

Evaluations conducted by Child Find teams are at no cost to parents.
