Summer food programs
Is your program closing for the summer? Wondering what your kids will do for meals? The good news is that the Summer Food Service Program provides free nutritious meals for hungry children during the summer. Visit www.summerfood.usda.gov to learn more about the program and find out how to become a sponsor or site where meals are served. Also, tell families about the National Hunger Hotline. They can contact the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE, or visit www.whyhunger.org/findfood to find out where kids can go to receive a nutritious meal. Hotline flyers for families are available in English and Spanish.
